Lloyd Cooke
Lloyd Cooke has taken art instruction at the Ontario College of Art and Design (OCAD) as well as workshops with American watercolour portrait artists Joe Fettingis, and Alex Powers. Exhibitions include the Guelph-Humber Cultural Center Gallery, Toronto City Hall Art Show, Queen Street West, and Toronto Art in the Park.
A long time resident of Toronto, Lloyd has traveled extensively throughout Mexico and Central America, as well as the Arab Emirates, Oman, Qatar, China, and North Africa where the subjects of many of his paintings are found.
An artist for over 30 years, his early work included silk screen prints and oils, but watercolour painting, and particularly paintings of people in their natural work settings, has been the focus of Lloyd’s work for the past several years.
Current Work: Watercolour paintings with the theme ”Women in the Market” --
based on women in the market places in various developing countries.
